Dragon Boat Fundraiser for Lakeshore General Hospital
Strathmore's dedicated team members once again paddled with purpose in the Dragon Boat Fundraiser, championing the cause for the Lakeshore General Hospital Oncology Clinic. Their unwavering commitment to supporting the clinic's mission saw them take to the waters in both 2022 and 2023, embodying the spirit of community and compassion.
13 Years of Harvests Donated to Food Banks at Centropolis
On Thursday August 4, 2022 we harvested our latest crop of vegetables at the Centropolis shopping centre and then donated the produce to the Moisson Laval food bank.
This is Strathmore's 14th year planting vegetables at Centropolis for local charities. None of this would have been possible without the approval of our wonderful clients Cominar, who contract us to do the landscaping on the property.
Thanks to Centropolis for this amazing initiative, and for trusting Strathmore to create and maintain this important garden.
Cooking with Our Urban Vegetables at Festival de la SOUPE LaSalle
On September 21, 2021, Strathmore participated in the Festival de la SOUPE lLSalle. Our soup, La Strathmore Veggie-Grilled, was prepared with vegetables from our urban vegetable garden in the company parking lot in LaSalle.
We have participated in this wonderful neighbourhood event a few times over the years, and hope to do it again soon.
Running Together to Raise Money for Cancer with Defi Challenge
On May 9, 2019, Strathmore team members put on their running shoes and ran in the Defi Challenge.
The Défi Cchallenge is an event that has been happening every May in since 1989, when teams of runners from companies run through the streets of Montreal to raise money for cancer research.
The event was created by Jonathan Wener when his wife Susan was first diagnosed with cancer. In 2022, now 32 years later, this initiative has raised a total of over 22 million dollars.
Food Donations Coordination at the Welcome Hall Mission
Welcome Hall Mission is close to our LaSalle headquarters, so has a special place in our hearts. During the Christmas rush in 2018, a team from Strathmore went down to this Montreal homeless shelter and helped the folks organize food donations and spread holiday cheer.
